Apple will offer Soccer pass for $99 a year

Major League Soccer on Apple finally has a release date and, more importantly, a cost. The MLS Season Pass will go on sale on February 1st, 2023 for $99 each season, or $15 per month, according to the firm. As you might expect, season passes and monthly fees for Apple TV+ customers are $79 and $13, respectively. You'll have time to make your choice before the competition really gets going because the regular season doesn't start until February 25.

MLS Season Pass will be a part of full-season ticket packages. However, you won't always need to subscribe. For Apple TV+ subscribers, some MLS and Leagues Cup games will stream at no additional cost, while some games (like those from the "MLS is Back" opening weekend") will be entirely free to watch.

The whole coverage is the allure, as was stated in June. There are no regional blackouts for any of the games, including the playoffs and League Cup. If you can't see the live action, there will be replays, highlights, and other materials accessible. MLS games will be accessible online and via the Apple TV app. There will be commentary available in English, Spanish, and (for Canadian teams) French, and you may also listen to a team's local radio broadcast.

The 10-year agreement between Apple and the MLS officially begins with the premiere. Additionally, it marks a big advancement in Apple's sports approach. Up until this point, Apple's live sports offerings were only the free, weekly Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders.

The startup is currently streaming entire seasons and charging much like the leagues do. The MLS Season Pass may not be as popular as options like NFL+, but it may put pressure on Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, and other live sports streamers.

"There has never been a better time to debut MLS Season Pass," said Eddy Cue, senior vice president of services at Apple, "after the most thrilling MLS Cup in league history and with MLS being the fastest-growing soccer league in the world. We're ticking down the days until fans worldwide can enjoy MLS Season Pass on billions of devices, all of which won't experience blackouts, in February 2023.

"We could not be more delighted to deliver our fans MLS Season Pass, a new home for all MLS matches and a wide range of league and club content they can't access anywhere else," said Don Garber, commissioner of Major League Soccer. With the MLS Season Pass, our loyal and ardent supporters will have access to every game wherever.

In full-season ticket packages with MLS clubs, a membership to MLS Season Pass will be included. A number of MLS and Leagues Cup games, including some of the biggest playoff matchups, will also be accessible to Apple TV+ customers at no additional cost, with some games also being made available for free via the Apple TV app.

In the upcoming weeks, further information on the MLS Season Pass broadcast teams, production upgrades, and all the ways fans can enjoy MLS programming across the Apple ecosystem will be revealed.
