Universal Control and Spatial Audio are included in macOS 12.3

There are now dozens of new emoji, including a melting face and a disco ball.

The Universal Control functionality is now accessible after Apple released macOS 12.3 and iPadOS 15.4 nine months after it was first shown off. The program, which is still in beta, allows you to use a single keyboard and mouse to handle both a Mac and an iPad at the same time (or trackpad). Text can be typed on either device, and files can be dragged between them. Universal Control was supposed to be ready last fall, but Apple said in December that it would be delayed until this spring.

Apple has also improved spatial audio on M1-powered systems. For compatible AirPods, Apple Music now provides dynamic head tracking functionality. In the Control Center, you'll discover settings for fixed and head-tracking spatial audio.

With many of emoji, you may express yourself in a variety of ways. A melting face, troll, disco ball, and hands creating the shape of a heart are among them, according to Emojipedia. There are now unique skin tone settings for each hand in the handshake emoji.

A less-gendered Siri voice option, more filters for the Podcasts app, optional notes for saved passwords, and (Apple claims) more accurate battery capacity estimates are also included in macOS 12.3. In addition, the macOS update adds support for adding, deleting, and querying tags with Reminders in Shortcuts, as well as Italian and Traditional Chinese translation for webpages in Safari.

Features

Apple has released macOS 12.3 after a month of beta testing, just in time for Mac Studio. It comes with a slew of new features for your Mac, in addition to the large iOS 15.4 update.

Universal Control

Universal Control, which was expected to be included in the initial iOS 12 release last fall, is the main feature of macOS 12.3. You may utilize the functionality to link your Mac to an iPad or another Mac wirelessly and control them both with the same keyboard and mouse. Universal Control is similar to Sidecar, but instead of extending your Mac's display, you may utilize the same input devices on both machines and drag files freely between them.

Spatial Audio

Apple took its time bringing Spatial Audio to the Mac, but it's now much better in macOS 12.3. Macs with the M1 chip can now use supporting AirPods to trigger dynamic head tracking in the Music app, and Control Center has new settings as well.
