Expect new Apple Watch models and the iPhone 14 lineup.
Apple confirmed in a press invite handed out today that its upcoming product launch event will be held on September 7. Apple is anticipated to reveal information on new iPhones and Apple Watches at the event.
The "Far out" invitation is for an in-person event at Apple's Cupertino headquarters' Steve Jobs Theater, which would be the business's first significant product launch event there since the outbreak of the pandemic. (Apple held a live event in person for this year's WWDC keynote, but it was held outside.) The organization will also broadcast the occasion online on September 7.
Probably the star of the show will be the iPhone 14 range. A 6.1-inch iPhone 14, a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 (perhaps with the "Plus" or "Max" tag), a 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max are the four versions that Apple is reported to release. Yes, to the dismay of the numerous members of the iPhone Mini fan club, that presumably implies Apple won't be releasing a new Mini phone.
The Pro line may receive the most improvements. The rumored removal of the controversial notch in favor of a hole-punch selfie camera and a pill-shaped cutout for Face ID is possibly the biggest change. Apple is also rumored to be introducing an always-on display mode that will only be available on Pro phones; presumably this would allow you to view iOS 16's new lock screen widgets even while the screen is off. Additionally, Apple may make its upcoming A-series CPU a Pro-only option for the first time. The primary camera on the Pros is anticipated to receive a significant upgrade to a 48-megapixel sensor, while all four iPhone 14 models are reported to feature a front-facing camera with autofocus.
The fascinating slogan "Far out" might be hinting at some other upgrades. Perhaps improvements to the iPhones' telephoto cameras? Or perhaps some sort of long-rumored satellite connectivity? Additionally, a little video posted on Twitter by Greg Joswiak, Apple's SVP of marketing, greatly plays up the star motif, which could point to the inclusion of an astrophotography capability.
At the presentation, three further Apple Watch models could be unveiled. According to rumors, the Apple Watch Series 8 will resemble the Series 7 but contain a body temperature sensor. According to rumors, a new Apple Watch SE is being developed with the same body as the current model but a speedier chip. A bigger screen and a longer battery lifemay be features of the allegedly geared at extreme sports enthusiasts new high-end watch.
There's a chance that the company will also unveil new AirPods Pro, iPads, and Mac Pro during this next event. Apple has already stated that a new Mac Pro is also in the works. Keep an eye on The Verge for coverage of everything that happens at the show.
