Share
Self Service Repair is a new service from Apple that will supply genuine Apple parts and tools to customers who are comfortable making their own repairs. Self-Service Repair will be available in the US early next year for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, and Mac Macs with M1 CPUs will follow soon after. It will also be accessible in other nations during 2022. Customers become part of a network of over 5,000 Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs) and 2,800 Alternative Repair Suppliers who have access to these components, tools, and manuals.
The first phase of the program will focus on the most commonly repaired parts, such as the iPhone display, battery, and camera. In the coming year, further repair capabilities will be accessible.
Our customers will have additional repair alternatives now that we have broader access to Apple original components "Apple's chief operating officer, Jeff Williams, stated. Thanks to Apple original parts, equipment, and training, we've nearly doubled the number of service centres in the last three years, and now we're providing customers the option to handle their own repairs.
Apple products are designed to withstand the physical demands of everyday use. When an Apple device needs to be fixed, skilled professionals can do it at a variety of locations, including Apple (in-store or through mail), AASPs (Independent Repair Providers), and now product owners who can undertake their own repairs.
Self Repair
It is vital that a customer study the Repair Manual beforehand to ensure that they are capable of making a repair safely. The customer will next place an order for Apple original parts and tools through the Apple Self Service Repair Online Store. After the repair, customers who return their used part for recycling will receive a credit toward their purchase.
Over 200 different parts and equipment will be available at the new store, allowing consumers to perform the most common iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 repairs.
Self Service Repair should be used by those with the abilities and knowledge to repair electronic devices. For the vast majority of clients, visiting a professional repair provider with qualified technicians who use authentic Apple parts is the safest and most dependable alternative for receiving a repair.
Access to Apple Repairs Has Been Increased
In the last three years, Apple has nearly doubled the number of service locations with access to Apple authentic parts, tools, and training, including over 2,800 Independent Repair Providers. The fast expanding Independent Repair Provider program, which launched in the United States in 2019 and has since extended to over 200 countries, offers independent repair businesses the same instruction, equipment, and techniques as other Apple Authorized Service Providers.
Furthermore, Apple's global network of over 5,000 Apple Authorized Repairs Providers (AASPs) continues to provide customers with simple repair alternatives, assisting millions of people with both in-warranty and out-of-warranty service for all Apple products.
By building products for durability, endurance, and higher maintainability, clients benefit from a long-lasting service that maintains its value for years. Apple also often releases software updates that bring new features and capabilities.
