iPhone SE 4 Likely to Feature Notch, Not Dynamic Island, Says Analyst Ross Young
Share
Rumors surrounding the design of the iPhone SE 4 have taken another turn, and it looks like the upcoming device will stick with a notch instead of Dynamic Island. According to Ross Young, a respected display industry analyst, Apple is basing the design on the iPhone 14, which means keeping the notch and a 6.1-inch OLED display.
A Notch, Not Dynamic Island
For months, leaks suggested that the iPhone SE 4 would ditch the Home button and move to an edge-to-edge OLED display with a notch, making it more in line with the rest of Apple’s lineup. However, last week, leaker @evleaks shared an image that appeared to show Dynamic Island instead, causing speculation that Apple might be giving the budget iPhone a more modern look.
Now, Ross Young has stepped in to refute that claim. In a post on X, Young confidently stated:
"Notch like iPhone 14 is correct."
Given Young’s solid track record in display-related leaks, it’s now more likely that Apple will stick with the notch design for the iPhone SE 4.
Other Expected Features
Beyond the notch and OLED screen, the iPhone SE 4 is shaping up to be a big upgrade over its predecessor. Here’s what we expect:
✅ 48MP Rear Camera – A significant improvement in photo and video quality.
✅ 12MP Front Camera – Supplied by LG Innotek, perfect for selfies and FaceTime calls.
✅ First Apple In-House 5G Modem – Marking Apple’s break from Qualcomm for connectivity.
When Will the iPhone SE 4 Launch?
Apple is expected to release the iPhone SE 4 by April, making it the first update to the SE lineup since 2022.
Final Thoughts
While some fans may be disappointed that the iPhone SE 4 won’t feature Dynamic Island, the move to an iPhone 14-style design with a notch, OLED display, and powerful camera still makes this a huge leap for Apple’s budget-friendly phone.
