Apple is already rolling out updates! Just a day after the official launch of iOS 18, Apple has released iOS 18.1 beta 4 and iPadOS 18.1 beta 4 for developers to test out the next wave of exciting features. These updates offer a sneak peek at what's coming later this fall, including Apple’s much-anticipated Apple Intelligence.
What’s New in iOS 18.1 Beta 4?
The standout feature in this beta release is the introduction of Apple Intelligence, a new AI-powered system designed to enhance your iPhone and iPad experience. While not fully available to everyone just yet, users can join the waitlist in Settings to be notified when it’s ready for their device.
Apple Intelligence will initially be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it's currently restricted to users in the U.S. (Sorry EU and China, it's not available there just yet.) If you're eager to try out Apple Intelligence, make sure your device language and Siri language are set to US English, and your device region is set to United States.
Another cool addition in this beta is the Clean Up tool for Photos, which should help keep your photo library organized and tidy!
How to Try the Beta
If you're a developer and want to give iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 beta a spin, just remember to back up your device before installing the beta. This is especially important for testing beta software, as bugs and other quirks are still being ironed out.
