iOS 19 Leak Offers a Bold New Look Ahead of Apple’s WWDC Unveiling

A new leak from Jon Prosser is giving Apple fans what might be the clearest look yet at iOS 19, and if what he's showing is accurate, we’re in for one of the biggest visual updates in years. In a detailed video posted on the FrontPageTech YouTube channel, Prosser walks viewers through the redesigned interface, calling it “the biggest iOS leak... ever.”

The update is said to draw heavy influence from visionOS, the operating system powering Apple Vision Pro, blending it with iOS’s familiar layout. That means smoother animations, rounder shapes, and a slicker, more futuristic aesthetic.

New Icons, More Motion

One of the most noticeable changes? App icons. Prosser says they now feature a more rounded look, with a “corner radius of about 30,” sitting somewhere between the flat squares of iOS 18 and the fully circular icons in visionOS.

Interestingly, he claims earlier internal builds actually hid these new icons behind the old ones—a sneaky move by Apple to avoid tipping off anyone who might spot a prototype device in the wild. Prosser says there’s still a chance the final icons will go full circle, though he hasn’t seen it yet.

Animations are also getting a big upgrade. System elements like toggle switches and lock screen features are said to “shimmer” as the device moves, giving the interface a glass-like depth.

A New Look for Control Center and Apps

The Control Center is reportedly getting a small but noticeable tweak. Brightness and volume sliders are now rounder, keeping with the softer aesthetic. Meanwhile, native apps such as Music and the App Store are introducing a floating tab bar at the bottom—called “Tab View”—which Prosser describes as “way more fluid and bouncy,” thanks to animation effects inspired by Dynamic Island.

That same new tab bar design is expected to roll out to third-party apps, helping create a more unified feel across the system.

Messages, Settings, and Camera Get Polished

In the Messages app, there’s a subtle change—the search field is now at the bottom of the display in conversation threads. It’s a small shift, but one that aligns with Apple's ongoing focus on thumb-friendly navigation.

The Settings app also gets a light visual update, with increased spacing and added shadows for a bit more breathing room. Prosser points out that it’s “not different enough to where a normie would even notice,” but it contributes to the overall refresh.

And then there’s the Camera app, which could introduce a brand-new feature exclusive to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: the ability to record with both the front and rear cameras at the same time. This echoes a feature once found on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and opens up creative possibilities for vloggers and storytellers.

Prosser vs. Gurman

This leak also serves as a response to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who previously dismissed some of FrontPageTech’s iOS 19 visuals as outdated. Prosser emphasized that all his visuals are recreations based on insider information, protecting sources from Apple’s internal tracking systems.

With iOS 19 set to be officially unveiled at WWDC in June, and a public release expected in September, we’ll soon know just how accurate this leak is. But if it holds true, iOS 19 could be one of the most refreshing and visually rich updates Apple has delivered in years.
