Apple’s Foldable iPhone May Cost Between $2100 and $2300, New Leak Suggests

Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone—often referred to as the "iPhone Fold"—is inching closer to reality, and a new report gives us a clearer idea of what it might cost. According to leaker Instant Digital, Apple is likely to price the device between $2,100 and $2,300, placing it just slightly above Samsung’s current Galaxy Z Fold6.
For comparison, Samsung’s Fold6 starts at $1,899.99 for the 256GB model and reaches $2,019.99 for the 512GB version. Apple’s pricing, while premium, would be in line with early expectations and well within the range of high-end foldables already on the market.
What We Know About the iPhone Fold So Far
The foldable iPhone is expected to take on a book-style design, featuring a 7.76-inch crease-free inner display and a 5.49-inch outer screen. This design would allow users to move between compact and tablet-style modes, offering flexibility for both casual use and productivity.
Due to space constraints inside the foldable chassis, the iPhone Fold may bring back Touch ID, integrated into the side button—a move that would serve as a workaround for the lack of internal space for Face ID components.
The device will reportedly measure between 9 to 9.5mm thick when folded, and just 4.5 to 4.8mm when open. It’s also said to feature a hinge system made of both stainless steel and titanium alloy, while the outer casing will also be made from titanium for added durability and a premium finish.
On the battery side, Apple may use the same high-density cells planned for its ultra-thin iPhone 17, helping keep the device compact without sacrificing power. Camera specs will reportedly include a dual-lens rear camera system and a single front-facing camera, which can be used in both folded and unfolded modes.
Timeline and Production Plans
Apple is expected to finalize the foldable iPhone’s specifications by Q2 2025, with an official project launch anticipated in Q3 2025. Mass production is scheduled to begin in Q4 2026, setting the stage for a 2026 release.
For the first-generation model, Apple is targeting 3 to 5 million units, with plans to scale up significantly in the second year. If all goes according to plan, shipment volumes could climb to 20 million units by 2027, including the follow-up version.
A New Chapter for the iPhone
The iPhone Fold is shaping up to be Apple’s most ambitious hardware evolution in years. With a blend of titanium construction, refined hinge engineering, and a focus on seamless display performance, Apple seems determined to make its first foldable product as polished as possible.
While the price tag will put it in the ultra-premium category, the features and materials suggest Apple is aiming to deliver a truly high-end experience. As more leaks surface and Apple edges closer to locking in the design, anticipation continues to grow for what could be the next big leap in smartphone design.
