Apple Releases Third Beta of visionOS 2.1 for Developers to Test

Apple has rolled out the third beta of visionOS 2.1 for developers, giving them a chance to test the latest tweaks and improvements. The new build, identified as 22N5558e, follows the release of visionOS 2.0 just last month. While we’re still waiting for details on any new features in this update, it's expected to bring fixes and optimizations that enhance the overall experience.

What’s New in visionOS 2?

visionOS 2 introduced some pretty cool upgrades for Vision Pro users. Here’s a look at the key features:

  • Spatial Photos: You can now create immersive spatial photos using the images already in your library, making your memories feel more alive than ever.
  • Intuitive Hand Gestures: Navigating your Vision Pro has become even easier with new hand gestures that let you access important information with just a glance.
  • Mac Virtual Display: This feature makes working with your Mac in a virtual environment feel smooth and natural.
  • Travel Mode & Guest User: Travel Mode optimizes your Vision Pro experience when you’re on the go, and Guest User mode ensures that anyone can use your device without accessing your personal data.

On top of that, Vision Pro users can explore a redesigned Photos app, manage all their accounts through the new Passwords app, and access improved privacy tools in Safari. Popular apps like Apple TV and Mindfulness have also seen new capabilities to make the most out of your Vision Pro device.

What’s New in visionOS 2.1?

While Apple hasn’t officially announced the specific features for visionOS 2.1, developers can expect performance improvements and bug fixes. The first beta already addressed several SwiftUI issues, so this latest release will likely continue refining the system.

If you're a developer, you can download the third beta now and explore all that visionOS 2.1 has to offer.
