Apple has now seeded the first Apple Studio Display Firmware Update 15.5 beta with camera updates alongside macOS 12.4 beta 3. Apple confirmed to The Verge that it will address "camera tuning, enhanced noise reduction, contrast, and framing" after we detected code changes in the recent version demonstrating webcam improvements.

"With today's beta release of macOS Monterey 12.4 comes a change to the Studio Display firmware," Apple added. "The Studio Display camera settings has been refined in this beta update, including improved noise reduction, contrast, and framing."
Senior Editor Devindra Hardawar said in his evaluation of the Studio Display that the webcam was "quite dirty," and that photographs captured with it appeared to be "coated in a coating of Vaseline." Despite the Studio Display's 12-megapixel sensor and A13 chip for image processing, this is the case.
